Title: Stealth mode suggestion
Post by: ChrisHash on September 22, 2013, 07:20 pm
I'd like to suggest a few things to the stealth mode, so that sellers can keep selling while keeping a low profile.

What I suggest is:
1: Fan management so that I can remove people from adding me to favorites
2: Invitation links for mans so that vendors can have greater control of who they deal with.
3: Fan access control for what fans can do. I.e: if they can see only see bookmarked products, discuss section and PMs

There is probably more but these are the ones that would be most important to be.

Interesting problem to have too many customers to deal with. :P

I'm assuming with #1 you're referring to the fact your fans are spreading your Vendor Link around thus increasing the amount of fans although you would prefer it to stay at the exact amount it's currently at, kind of like "don't talk about Fight Club" and they do it anyway? ;)
Only theoretical solution I can see would be adding the option of Accepting/Denying individual Fans, and unless they're on the list they wouldn't be able to access your Vendor Profile even if they entered the correct URL which is the only requirement at the moment. With that said you present some interesting ideas with #3 where if I'm interpreting your motivation correctly basically comes down to this:

Based on how much you trust the Fan in question you want to be able to present certain listings with better prices and/or larger bulk listings to that specific fan? For example if fan X buys 10 gram of product Y they would automatically get sorted into a different "Fan Class" which might have the benefit of unlocking bulk listings for product Y, which they would not have access to before. I'm a fan of the idea itself and don't necessarily think it should get restricted to "fans only" as it could be used very broadly, however code-wise I don't see how it would be that difficult to separate the functions of fans themselves and more broadly for "everyone else". For something like this to work at all I suspect the current code-base would not work very well with this kind of functioning, and not to beat more on a dead horse than necessary but I think it would have a much higher chance of working with Upgraded Listing Options: http://dkn255hz262ypmii.onion/index.php?topic=182090
